Launching soon: Make money 💵 + Twitter friends 🐦
Our trusty “coolness consultant” Braden Lockwood had a great idea.
Starting soon, rating a post will cost 0.001 ETH — less than a typical gas fee — which gets paid to the owner of the Post NFT (the author, by default).
That means:
It only takes 62 ratings on your post to earn $100 (0.62 ETH)
Also:
Rating fees are paid to the post’s current owner, so you can buy someone else’s Post NFT and earn all its rating fees thereafter.
“That’s cool for post authors, but if rating costs money, why would I do it?”
Answer: Twitter discovery
Your profile will show the users who most agree with you, based on their on-chain ratings.
You will also appear on their profiles. Optionally connect Twitter to Ideamarket, and attract new Twitter followers effortlessly based on your shared beliefs.
You pay: a few dollars in rating fees.
You get: an endless stream of new Twitter followers who agree with you on the topics you most care about.
You can also promote your Substack, website, or whatever else you want in your bio.
The more posts you rate, the more and higher-quality followers you’ll attract.
“Sounds pretty cool. What’s the catch?”
We’ll be resetting the smart contracts for the Posts in order to launch this stuff. That means all the written post content on the live site will be removed. Hardly anyone has spent more than $20 on gas fees on the current version, but if you want to be reimbursed for any gas fees, let me know. And if you want to save anything you’ve posted, do it now.
Good news: User Accounts will NOT be affected — If you already set up an Ideamarket profile, connected Twitter, or staked IMO on a user, you won’t need to do it again when this new version launches.
Create New Post will cost 0.001 ETH per post. It will only take 2 or 3 ratings on your post to make a profit. Posting fees go to Ideamarket’s treasury.
In summary:
“Hey, that’s not so bad.”
I know, right 😍
And remember — we’ll also be launching the new homepage UI at the same time.
Launch date coming soon.
Cheers,
—Mike
PS — Do this right now ⬇️
Connect Twitter to Ideamarket, so when this launches, other users will be able to find you on Twitter immediately when you rate posts. Hit the blue stripe, and click “Sign” in Metamask. You will NOT need to send a Tweet like in earlier versions.
