Staking $IMO is like electing Ideamarket users to rate and curate posts on behalf of the community. You can stake on yourself, or on other users you trust. You can unstake at any time, and there’s no risk of loss.
The posts on the homepage are sorted by “amount of $IMO staked on all users who rated this post.”
That means…
If $IMO is staked on your profile, any post you rate appears higher on the homepage. The more $IMO is staked on your profile, the more a post’s visibility increases after you rate it.
We might not always do it this way, but it’s how things are starting out.
How to stake $IMO on users
(or on yourself)
IMPORTANT: You can spend ETH to stake, and we’ll convert it to $IMO in our smart contracts. You can also stake $IMO directly.
You can stake on a user by visiting the Users tab on the homepage…
… or from any user’s profile page:
You’re in charge!
Remember: The more $IMO is staked on your profile, the more a post’s visibility increases after you rate it.
So if you see spam, ignore it — rating it “0” will still boost its visibility!
The more interesting the top posts are, the more ratings we’ll attract, and the more we’ll achieve our goal of creating credibility without institutions.
Onward,
—Mike 😊
PS — To encourage others to stake on you, fill out your profile so people can recognize you from Twitter, and wherever else you live on the internet!
